distance learning

Our distance learning options make it possible for those with other commitments to engage in a comprehensive study of Montessori theory and educational philosophy, the methodology and an overview of other important educational philosophies.

All our dual qualifications have an online component. We make use of Google Classroom, which can easily be accessed on a smartphone, iPad or laptop. Students are given a basic introduction to the programme and ideally will learn many important skills using this format. Students who opt to complete the course via distance learning, will complete most of the academic component via this portal.
Our distance learning options include:
  • a self-study component
  • live classes
  • online tutorials with a lecturer
  • pre-recorded videos of presentations
  • a contact component (attendance at workshops for practical presentations)
Students should have a good internet connection, a smart phone/computer/laptop/tablet and ideally access to a Montessori school. We recommend students allocate approximately 20- 25 hours per week for completing the academic component in one year. In addition to the coursework, students need to complete practice with the materials and Directed Observations. In order to receive the full dual qualification, students should complete all components.
Namely:
  • The Academic Component
  • Compulsory practice hours with the materials
  • Compulsory Workshops
  • Summative Assessments (Practical & Written Exams)
  • The Teaching Practice component
